The popularity of the UAE as a jurisdiction for Russian business, which has increased over the past two years, has led to an increase in the number of joint ventures (JVs) with Russian participation being created in this market. At the same time, in practice, the use of traditional legal instruments to structure corporate governance can be challenging, in particular, due to significant differences in regulation at the level of individual free zones and the lack of law enforcement practice.
